Once a grand Victorian railway hotel, it opened in 1903, above the now closed Princes Street railway station. A fantastic location for this landmark hotel.ction of national and international channels, in-room mini bars, tea and coffee making facilities including a Nespresso coffee maker, many offer a walk in shower (no bath), hair dryer and our famous fluffy bathrobes and slippers. For your comfort, the room is fully air-conditioned, offering Waldorf Astoria bedding and pillow menu as well as black-out curtains. .There are two restaurants. One is slightly more formal decorated in soft pastels with delicate murals on the walls. The other restaurant is less formal and offers a wide variety of meals in relaxed surroundings. There is also an infomal wine bar which is open to the public and a smaller, intimate cocktail bar.It is a traditional building and is one of Edinburgh's most distinguished hotels. It was originally built in 1903 as part of the old Caledonian railway station. It does have a wing which was built in later years.The lobby is large and is very elegant.
