Built in 1876, this hotel has kept its unique architecture and design, while two new buildings have been added with all the modern amenities that guests would expect in a world-class hotel. This historic boutique hotel is set on more than two acres of established lawns and gardens and has 17 rooms. Guests are welcomed into a lobby at this club resort and amenities include a currency exchange facility, a hairdressing salon and a games room. There is a bar and a restaurant on the premises. There are conference facilities available to business travellers and guests can take advantage of the hotel's room and laundry services. Guests arriving by car may park their vehicles in the car park.
The hotel offers variety and individuality amongst its rooms including Homestead rooms, Garden rooms, one-bedroom Garden suites and two-bedroom apartments, that are furnished with standard amenities and include a large balcony or terrace, leading out to the gardens. All accommodation features an en suite bathroom with a shower, bath and hairdryer. Double or king-size beds, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, Internet access, a kitchen with a minibar and tea and coffee making facilities, an ironing set and central heating are standard features in all accommodation.
Guests can take a dip in the resort's outdoor swimming pool.
The hotel offers contemporary New Zealand cuisine using the freshest seasonal produce, in an idyllic and intimate setting.
