Birmingham is the second largest city of Great Britain and one of the largest industrial centers in the world. Prosperity is based on engineering, steel and automotive industry. What surprises first time visitors is the fact that the city sre more trees and open spaces than any other city in Europe. Much of downtown was destroyed during the Second World War and later buildings are built not just pride. Yet 90 years since Birmingham has undergone radical changes, many buildings being replaced, much of the center is pedestrian and the network of channels being cleaned. The city has preserved industrial heritage, but has a modern appearance.

Shropshire, Warwick and Stratford-Upon-Avon are places near the city, which offers a more classic image of old England. But even the city of Birmingham has much to offer visitors an extremely lively nightlife and the best shopping areas outside London.
