Brisbane is the third largest city in Australia, but not the sunniest. It is found in subtropical regions of south-east Queensland, 25 km upstream on the Brisbane River.
The city has an ideal location: the capital of northern Australia, the Pacific line. There have been a number of major international events in the 80s, including English Republic Games (Commomwealth Games) in 1982 and Expo 88. Brisbane has become a lively cosmopolitan city with several interesting districts, street cafes, a great park on the river, a cultural calendar glomerata and a pretty good nightlife.
The compact city center is built along the river and one of its loops, which makes it an easy place to go on foot. Transit Center, where you get if you live in the city by bus, train or airport, is 500 m from downtown. The airport is situated 15 km north-east of downtown.
Horse Queen Street Mall is the largest mall in Brisbane, where there are several big shopping centers: The Myer Centre, The Wintergarden, Queens Plaza, Broadway Mall, Brisbane Arcade, Queen Adelaide Building.
Street Eagle Street, business, markets are Riverside and Eagle Street at the weekend. Markets South Bank Parklands South Bank and Brunswick Street Mall are good places to search for bargains.
Queensland tourism industry which thrives on, brought an influx of rich tourists who remain impressed by the almost perfect climate of the city, along the whole year. Infrastructure Conference of the town is excellent, with plenty of hotels and nice restaurants. The city offers several interesting museums and historical buildings, and a great cultural center. Parks South Bank is located south of the river and is a pleasant area to spend time, both for locals and travelers. Brisbane is surrounded by major tourist destinations, which offers plenty of sightseeing options in which locals and tourists can enjoy the diverse landscape. Visit Bay Moreton Bay and its islands that provide an excellent place for water sports. Pacific Highway leads south to Gold Coast beaches known for surfing. North of Brisbane lies the town of Redcliffe, tropical forests and picturesque landscape Pine Rivers and Caboolture and Glasshouse Mountains. Bribie Island is the first surf of the north. Sunshine Coast cities are popular places to vacation. Traveling west from Brisbane Great Dividing Range reach the mountains, the plains town Toowoombasi rich Darling Downs.
