Hua Hin is a famous seaside resort in Thailand, located in the northern Malay Peninsula, about 200 km south of Bangkok. It has a population of 85,000 inhabitants and is one of the eight districts (Amphoe) of the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan.
The resort, whose history is closely linked to Thailand's royal family, has a beautiful beach five miles long bordering the Gulf of Siam (Pacific Ocean). The resort offers, in addition to snorkeling, sunbathing and swimming, activities such as golf and spas, and attractions such as caves, mountain peaks, waterfalls and national parks nearby.
Hua Hin popular activities include fishing, eco-cruises, kite-boarding-site courses, martial arts, Thai massage, spa, cooking classes, trekking, diving, snorkeling and water sports.
Golful, in special, a devenit deosebit de popular, Hua Hin fiind recunoscut ca una dintre principalele destinatii dedicate acestui sport din Thailanda.
Hua Hin este un loc popular pentru cumparaturi de artizanat, arta contemporana, tesaturi lucrate manual din bumbac imprimat, matase, broderii, cosuri, ceramica, sculptura in lemn, pietre pretioase si bijuterii (inclusiv safire si rubine).
Viata de noapte este centrata in cartierele Soi Bintabaht si Selakam Soi, unde gasiti foarte multe berarii. Exista, de asemenea, discoteci, baruri karaoke, localuri cu muzica live si chiar un cabaret, Blue Angel. Ritmul de viata de noapte este mult mai lent decat in orasele mai mari orientate spre vest precum Pattaya si Patong, iar apropierea de Palatul Regal inseamna ca nu exista cluburi de noapte.
