Lake Louise is a small town located in Alberta, Canada. It is named after the famous lake in the vicinity, Lake Louise, which in turn was named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta (1848-1939), the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and wife of John Campbell, the 9 - Duke of Argyll, Governor of Canada from 1878 until 1883. Province of Alberta is also increasingly called Princess Louise Caroline Alberta by name.
The town is divided into two communities. Home community called Village lies at low altitude, near the Trans-Canadian highway. He owns a small shopping center, Samson Mall, which includes parking for visitors, grocery stores, bars and many sporting goods stores. Ski area, Lake Louise Mountain Resort is located above the highway.
The second community is at a higher altitude and is focused around Castle Lake Louise, near the lake with the same name.
Since 2001, the city had a population of 1,043 residents in 273 homes. Statistical Centre of Canada has not published the 2006 census for Lake Louise but the data collected from the center of the release, the population was around 777 inhabitants.
