Lipno nad Vltavou - diverse winter fun for the whole family!
Lipno nad Vltavou is southeast of the Bohemian Forest and directly on the Lipno Lake, the largest man-made lake in the Czech Republic. Because of the optimal location and the resulting diverse leisure opportunities, the tranquil resort is very popular with families. In the summer, the beaches and bike trails are extremely popular. In winter, tourists and locals alike hit the family-friendly pistes and far-reaching cross-country trails. The area also provides the chance for a few great day-trips, for example to the UNESCO city Cesky Krumlov, just 30 km from the resort. There are also many castles and forts in the southern Bohemian Forest.
SkiThe ski area at Lipno is between 760 and 900 m elevation and offers a total of 8 km of piste linked by 6 lifts. The small but lovely ski area is due to its easy and middle-difficult slopes particularly well-suited to families. Beginners have the best conditions to get acquainted with the sport on dreamy pistes up to 60 m wide. The manageable and well-prepared pistes promise maximum fun and safety for both parents and children.
In the Fox Park, with ski lifts designated for children, kids will feel comfortable while having loads of fun learning to ski. The ski area is deemed to be snow sure as it is covered by man-made snow.
In addition to skiing, Lipno nad Vltavou offers several additional leisure activities: as soon as the ice on the Lipno Lake is thick enough, ice-skating on the 11-km long, 6-8 km wide stretch between Lipno nad Vltavou and Frymburk becomes one of the most popular winter activities.
Or how about a visit to the Aquaworld or any of the several spa facilities to let an evening come to a relaxing close? For those who are looking to go out at night, there's a bowling alley and various après ski bars directly on the chair-lift. There you'll also find a few restaurants in which you can be delighted with Bohemian specialties and international cuisine.
For cross-country skiers, the area offers 43 km of the best-prepared pistes between the resorts Lipno nad Vltavou and Frymburk, which are intended for both classic cross-country skiing as well as skating.
A highlight is the loop around the Lipno Lake, which, like most of the trails, is suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers alike. Cross-country skiing on Lake Lipno is known as one of the most popular winter sports activities in the region, and every year tourists are drawn to Lipno nad Vlatavou. Enjoy the incredible tracks with clear fresh air and wonderfully idyllic landscape!
