Münster – gateway to the Ziller Valley!

Ski

With the "Zillertaler Superskipass" you can choose between 650 km of piste in the 8 ski areas of the Ziller, Gerlos and Tuxer Valleys, which are all perfectly connected by a free shuttle bus system commuting between the areas (see ski region). Two ski areas are available in close proximity: The Spieljoch at Fügen as well as the Hochfügen-Hochzillertal area. Via the connection of the originally independent ski areas Hochfügen and Hochzillertal, you now have access to a fantastic 166 km of piste and 37 lifts between 600 and 2,500 m altitude. This guarntees all winter sports fans snow security right up into April. The Hochzillertal is ideal for skier looking for a ski area with a bit more challenge. Anything from enjoyable descents via first class free rider possibilities right up to a snow park can be found here! The ski area Spieljoch offers a further 21 km of excellent pistes, a total of 7 lifts and a magic carpet for the first few swings on skies. The 7 km long valley run to Fügen is a dream for all ski wallowers. The main aspect here is clearly "family- and child-friendly" and definitely not "ski-highlife", but rather a focus on security and an enjoyable skiing experience.

Round off the exciting day on the piste with sturdy apres ski. Cosy huts and snow bars offer numerous possibilities to end the evening the way you want. Restaurants, bistros and cafés will tickle your tongue with traditional or international specialities. If you'd rather be sporty away from the pistes, you can try a winter hike through the snow-covered forests. A special highlight for all ages is a go on the natural and flood-lit toboggan run of Münster. A horse-drawn sleigh ride promises a romantic way of enjoying the wonderful winter landscape.

Even though the Ziller Valley is not exactly well-known for its extended cross-country ski network - it still is not something to overlook! Unfortunately there are hardly any high altitude tracks, but the valley trails are all the more worthwhile. Zell am Zilller, together with Gerlos, offer a total of 26 km of trails, including 5 km of skating style runs. The easy regional track over 25 km from Zell am Ziller to Mayrhofen - an ambitioned skier's dream. Included in the total of 200 km of trails in the region, is also the 8 km long high altitude track on the Gerlosplatte at Krimml. Easy access to the 200 km trail network makes a cross-country skier's heart beat faster!
