Tokyo (literally Eastern capital) is the capital of Japan and its largest city, with 13,010,279 inhabitants, hosts about 10% of the population. The city is situated in the middle of the archipelago's main island of Japan, Honshu. Here is the seat of government and residence of the Emperor of Japan. Also gave the name of Tokyo is one of Japan's 47 prefectures, including Tokyo and some neighboring areas and some islands of the south. The Imperial Palace is located north of Jimbocho, a neighborhood with many libraries. Tokyo Dome is located north of the district and is a modern sports and concert hall.
