Acropolis of Thassos - details and images
The Acropolis is located at the top of the first hill above the old agora (market) at a height of 137m. The Acropolis has reinforced marble walls. It included the final defense in case of emergency. The Acropolis wall was built by the first inhabitants of the island. They even used it as a treasury to secure and protect the city's wealth.
