Aldama Palace - details and images

Aldama Palace (El Palacio de Aldama) is a neoclassical style building, situated in front of the old Campo de Mars park today "La Fraternidad Americana, Havana, Cuba. It was built in 1840 by architect and engineer Dominican José Manuel Carrera.

Possessing one of the most lavish facades of the Cuban capital, the palace consists of two houses, one of the master, Don Domingo Aldama y Arrechaga Basque, and one by his daughter Rosa de Aldama y Alfonso del Monte.

The palace, built of stone, has a dining room designed to accommodate more than one hundred people.

Since 1987, the building houses the Faculty of History of Cuba (Instituto de historia de Cuba).
