Aquarium of Barcelona is the second tourist in the number of visitors annually. Located in the Port Vell Moll d'Espanya del, the Mediterranean Sea. At the Aquarium are 35 wells that house over 11,000 marine animals and 450 different species representative of the Mediterranean.
It is considered one of the most important exhibitions of marine animals from Europe because of the impressive collection. In an hour or two visitors are invited to admire the sea animals in the southern hemisphere, in the Mediterranean colonies or atolls of the tropics.
Visitors can wander through the shark tunnel, surrounded by water and aquatic animals are lethal. The variety of marine animals is very high and that's why Barcelona Aquarium is a perfect tourist attraction to visit with family and children. All tanks are arranged so as to better reproduce natural conditions in living animals exposed. There Pirana fish at the Aquarium of the Amazon, caimans and more than twenty species of penguins. Children can learn more about marine life, oceanography, marine animals granirea may attend or play in a submarine specially equipped for them. Aquarium is open all year
Opens at 9:30 AM and closes at 21:00 from Monday to Friday and on weekends and during holidays at 21:30. In July and August Aquarium is open until 23:00.
The ticket is open until one hour before closing and ticket prices are:
Adults: 17 €
Children from 4 to 12 years: 12 €
Adults over 60 years: 14 €
The Barcelona card offer a discount of 10% of the cost of entry to the Aquarium.
