Botanic Garden Hanbury - details and images

The passion of an English family for nature and botany in 1867 allowed the creation of a botanical garden with flowers all over the world. The Mediterranean climate has contributed to the growth of plants that would normally only survive in the greenhouse in England.

The Hanbury Botanical Garden boasts over 5,800 ornamental, medicinal and fruit plants arranged harmoniously by botanists, agronomists and landscapers coming from outside the country, between ornamental elements and cultivated terraces.

Italy was the favorite destination of English travelers in the second half of the century. XIX, also in the year 1890, Queen Victoria visited the South of France (Nice, Cannes, Menton) and Italy (Bordighera).
