Channel Potidea - details and images
Potidea Canal (64 km from Neos Marmaras) from the territory of Kassandra, linking the Gulf and the Gulf Toroneos Thermaic.
Mentioned for the first time in "Geography" of Strabo (65 BC-23 AD), Channel Potidea with length of 1250 m, width 40 m and a depth of 8 m, dates from the reign of King Cassander.
If until 1967, the link between the northern Halkidiki peninsula was by ferry and Kassandra is currently the route from Nea Moudania Kassandra tourist resorts to get over the bridge built in 1970.
