Decebal Face - details and images
The face of the Dacian king Decebal is a 55 m high bas-relief, [1] located on the rocky shore of the Danube, between the towns of Echelnița and Dubova, near the city of Orșova, Romania. The bas-relief depicts Decebal, the last king of Dacia, and is carved on a rock. It is the tallest stone sculpture in Europe. The businessman and the historian amateur protocronist Iosif Constantin Drăgan was the one who promoted and financed the idea of this work carried out between 1994 and 2004.
