Dublin Castle - details and images

The castle is situated on the ridge, in a strategic place, at the junction of the River Liffey and its tributaries Poddle.

Later, a Viking fortress was on this place, from this, only some can be visited by tourists - "crypt".

Royal Apartments, encrypt and Chapel Royal are open to visitors. On several occasions, the Royal Apartments may be closed for state purposes.

Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 2:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Closed: Good Friday, December 25 to 26, 2001 January.

How to get there:
5 minutes walk from Trinity College en route to Christ Church.
Buses: 77, 77A, 56a, and 49 (from Eden Quay), 123 (from O'Connell Street), stop at Palace Street Gate.
