An ambitious and costly project, but according to the palace that was the price of five decades of China's administrative center and residence of emperors and empresses of the Yuan Dynasty (1271 - 1368), Ming (1368 - 1644) and Qing (1644 - 1911) .
Forbidden City complex is protected by an impressive moat six meters deep and a massive wall, ten feet tall.
