George Cosbuc Memorial Museum - details and images
Organized in the house where the great poet was born of the Romanian people, today, historical monument, is a major landmark on Route 17C, km. 34 (12 km from the Ukraine), looked so Romanian tourists, and, lately, and foreign ones. The main attraction lies in the fact that this house has seen the light of day on 20 September 1866, who would be "soul in soul" who conceived the nation.
Like any Roman house, entry is by "porch" (a sort of hall), the visitor will choose the first room that invites you to silence, the patriarchal atmosphere created in the first three rooms: the porch of the house before (for guests) and Chile (the prayer-room chapel house). The objects exhibited in these rooms, exclusively, are original. The next three exhibition halls for the poet's life and work aimed at the history of our cultural institution that has a chance to be the first museum of Romanian literature in the country (1905), and is emblematic of the Romanian literary museography. The last room holds things together with the poet (cape, hat, travel bag, etc..) And a highly representative (not by number but by documentary value) fragment of the 30 000 books from the library of George Cosbuc.
Museum Cosbuc is the only museum dedicated exclusively to the poet, literary museography in the Romanian Transylvania. The primary reason was to collect and exhibit the (partial), photographs, documents, correspondence, editions and translations of the poet's work.
