Groeninge Museum - details and images
The museum collection includes works that belong to the artists who lived or worked in Bruges. Most important artwork in the museum's "Virgin and Joris van der Paele priest" painted by Jan Van Eyck in 1436. Details abundant on the clothes of the characters in this picture gives the status of medieval Flemish painting treasure.
Of the paintings in the fifteenth century are part and "Lady Death" by Hugo van der Goes, "the altar of St. Christopher" by Hans Memling, "Baptism of Jesus Christ" by Gerard David.
Another part of the museum includes works from the Renaissance and Baroque painters such as Jan Provoost, Lanceloot Blondeel, and Pieter Adriaan Isenbrant Pourbus.
The nineteenth century is represented by works by artists such as Joseph spool, Ducq Jozef Jozef Albert Odevaere and Gregorius.
The museum is open daily from 9:30 to 17:00 (it is closed every Monday).
Entry fee is 8 EUR for adults, 6 € for groups larger than 15 persons and EUR 1 for children between 6-25 years.
