Kadriorg Park - details and images
It is the largest park in Tallinn (70 ha). It is situated north of downtown. The creation of this park Baroque symmetrical and was initiated in 1718 by Peter the Great, who built his residence here. Today is the residence of the President of Estonia. Kadriorg Park park is most noted in Estonia. It is intended to preserve the natural look, pastures, plantations and forest trails. In 1722 soldiers planted 550 trees in the park to promote the rapid development of the park.
The park is the center Kadriog Palace, designed by architect Niccolo Michetti for the Russian czar and was built between 1720 and 1736. In the first half of the twentieth century, it became a public park and has spread to the sea.
