Monastery of Saint Anthony and Saint Paul Monastery:
Monastery of St. Anthony (AD 361-3) marked the beginning of the monastic tradition, and is the oldest and largest monastery in Egypt. Legend says that Anthony was orphaned at 18, and so decided to devote his life to God, resulting in what the world now knows that being a monk. His disciples built the monastery on the tomb's magnificent, and is now accessible to all who want to appreciate the originality of much of the site.
