Notre Dame Cathedral - details and images
Notre Dame Cathedral was completed in 1345 as a construction was difficult. The result is an overwhelming building with 128 meters long and towers 69 feet high.
Bell Tower, which reaches 90 meters, was added in the 19th century by Viollet-le-Duc. Notre Dame owns several round windows, but the 13th century is the most impressive with a diameter of 13.1 meters.
Notre Dame has two organs: the Great Organ has five keyboards and 56 note, 111 registers and 7374 pipes and the Choir organ has two keyboards and 1840 tubes.
The pillars of the east were 15 feet tall. The western part includes three huge arcade and the gallery of kings.
During the restoration, some sculptures and interior have been moved or destroyed. Only in the 19th century cathedral was finished by Parisian architect Eugène Emmanuel Viollet-le-Duc. Last century there were new works of restoration, between 1991 and 2001.
Approximately 13 million people worldwide annually visiting Cathedral (an average of 30,000 people per day). In peak days are over 50,000 pilgrims and visitors who enter the cathedral.
In front of the cathedral, is "Kilometer 0" of Paris.
The cathedral is open daily between 7:45 am and 6:45 pm
Guided tours are organized from Monday to Friday and are free:
French: Monday to Friday at 2 pm and 3 pm (except first Friday of every month) Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 pm
German: Wednesday 2 pm, Saturday 2:30 pm
English: Sunday at 2 pm, Thursday at 2 pm, Saturday 2:30 pm
Spanish: Sunday 2:30 pm
Italian: 2 pm Thursday, Saturday 11 am
Japanese: 2 pm Friday
Chinese: First and third Wednesday of each month at 2:30 pm
Russian: 2 pm Wednesday, Saturday 2:30 pm
Audio guides are available between 9:30 am and 6:00 pm (Sundays from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm) and the fee is 5 €.
Entering the cathedral is free. Free recitals every Sunday at 4:30 pm

Encrypt, hide the results of excavations in the ruins of an ancient cathedral to discover Paris. The entrance is opposite the entrance in the crypt of the cathedral and is open between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm (closed Mondays and holidays, bank holidays)
