Osaka Castle is a castle located in Japan city of Osaka, Chuo sector. Ozakajo originally called, in the sixteenth century, the Azuchi-Momoyama period, the castle played an important role in the political unification of Japan. Osaka Castle is open to the public today and is one of the most famous castles in Japan.

Joudo Shinshu Buddhist sect founded in 1496 on the ruins of an ancient monastery Naniwa imperial palace, very close to the actual castle. Over time it becomes a big Buddhist temple, known as Hongan-Ji (or Hongan-Ishi Yama-Ji). In 1570, Shogun's (the country's supreme military authority) Oda Nobunaga begins siege of the temple and the monks in 1580 to teach and Hongan-Ji temple is demolished.

In 1585 the main tower is built. Toyotomi continued to expand and strengthen the castle, making it harder to conquer, and the building of the castle is completed in 1598. Hideyoshi dies and goes to Osaka castle to his son, Toyotomi Hideyori.

Osaka Castle Park, with the 1250 and 4500 Japanese plum trees, cherry trees, is a popular place to spend the festivities of the spring festivities, about sakura bloom. Every autumn, here is the Chrysanthemum Festival.
