Palmaria Island - details and images
The island of Palmaria is situated in the Ligurian Sea at the western end of the Gulf of La Spezia; is the largest island of the Spezzino archipelago and the five islands of Liguria.
Situated in the front of the village of Porto Venere, where it is separated from a small seaside area called Le Bocche, it is part of an archipelago made up of the Tino and Tinetto islands. Its territory is part of the city of Porto Venere.
Since 1997, the island of Palmaria, along with the other islands of Tino and Tinetto, Porto Venere and Cinque Terre, has been included among UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
