Park Maksimir - details and images
The 18 hectares of land covered with lush vegetation were open to the public in 1794, the park opened the first of its kind in this region of Europe. For those who do not like flowers without fauna, Maksimir site also offers a surprise: the road to the city zoo.
Opened to the public in 1794 and located on the east side of town, Maksimir is the first space (park) in Europe for walks. The name comes from its founder, Maksimilian Vrhovec.
