Petronas Towers - details and images

Merdeka Square situated in the Petronas Towers or Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has 88 floors and are constructed largely of concrete reinforced with steel and glass facade, designed to mimic the grounds of culture and traditions of Malaysia, evoking Islamic architecture, a star with eight corners, curved arches, creating a facade which resembles the towers of the temples. The two towers house the headquarters of some of the most important companies in the world.

The towers each have 88 floors, of which 78 floors served by elevators, and have a maximum height of 452 m, the antenna on the roof top, top floor being at a height of 375 m.

Project structure and strength was developed by engineers Haitian Obiasse Domo, Aris D. Battista Battista and Princess. Although the height record in 2004 was surpassed by Taipei 101 Tower, the towers continue to be the highest twin towers in the world.
