Priamar Fortress - details and images
The Priamar fortress of Savona (or Priam Liguria) is a monumental complex of military character, the construction is downtown in correspondence of the port.
The history of the Priamar fortress is linked to that of the promontory in which Savona's first core was built and on which it stood. In 1525, with Savona's victory and the subsequent destruction of the old buildings, Genova imposed a fortress built between 1542 and 1544 and designed by Giovanni Maria Olgiati.
