St. Mary's Cathedral - Alghero - details and images
Begun in 1570, St. Mary's Cathedral was opened in 1593, but construction was finished in 1730.
Originally, the cathedral had a Gothic-Catalan, as seen in the five chapels in the belfry. But the nave and two side aisles are late Renaissance style.
In the twentieth century a nave was added to the Neo-Classical style, he dramatically changed the appearance of the cathedral.
