St. Nicholas Church - Prague - details and images
St Nicholas Market in the old center is a baroque church built between 1732-1735. The interior was inspired from within the church at Les Invalides in Paris. It was closed during the reign of Joseph II in 1781 and its interior decorations were sold. New empty building first served as a barn and then as an archive.
Only in 1871 have the same purpose as the beginning. Today the church serves the church as well as some concert hall for classical music. Although winter is heated inside the church, it is still advisable to wear an overcoat if you decide to take part in such a concert.
