Statue of Liberty New York - details and images
The most famous monument of the United States and one of the most popular around the world immediately recognized anywhere in the last century has become more than a statue of the city. Seeming to guard the port of New York, was a gift from France to celebrate the centennial of the U.S. in 1876. Its creator was the French sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi, who worked no less than 21 years at the most ambitious project of his, while the inner structure was built by the famous Eiffel.
