Stipoc Monastery - details and images
Stipoc Monastery (Monastery St. Athanasius), the only monastery located in the Danube Delta, located Stipoc Sand, near Chile. Long way to beat the Danube Delta, but if you are the way to Mile 23 on the arm or Chile, and you deserve a motor boat to visit this place.
Abbot of the monastery is a very welcoming and patient with all who come into this place. The place is like a little paradise in the middle of the desert, an oasis where you can recover after a hot summer day.
Shrine has many monks were five elder brothers and father in November when I visited the place, a small wooden church (built in Moldavian style), but receiving some cells, the refectory (where the diner), and in the back somewhere , designed a garden, even a small greenhouse. On the road you enter the courtyard of the monastery abbot father has planted hundreds of flowers that begin to move like the elder parent passing on their side. Fountain in the courtyard of the monastery, though made in spite of overwhelming heat, refreshes you with her cold and clear water. Inviting and full of life, the monastery offers accommodation for those who want to spend a few days full of peace there. Shrine is shepherded in Orthodox Old Believers, built quite recently, roughly 15 years ago from what we bring to our remembrance the words of Father Abbot. More of the history of the shrine but I hope I have learned that those who will visit this wonderful place and the story was more capable of other things about him.
Simplicity is the place all the delight a visitor accustomed to the bustle of the season only the Delta, there certainly will not find price tags and anything on sale, everything is your choice.
Stipoc monastery is an excellent tourist stop for fisherman or thirsty for water and spiritual retreat.
