Temple of Concordia - Agrigento - details and images
Built around 430 BC, the temple of Concordia is the best preserved Doric temple in the Greek world and one of the most beautiful in terms of proportion and harmony of form.
It is a four-sided structure, m. 20/42 elegant colonnade, following a classic model has 6 / 13 columns, each with a height of 6.75 m.
When Bishop Gregorio instead transferred the cathedral Agrigento, Temple has gone through major transformations (sixth century AD)
To the north lies the temple paleochristian Byzantine Necropolis, a vast complex of tombs in the open.
