Toirano's Caves - details and images

Caves in Toirano are located a few kilometers from the homonymous village, in the Borghetto Santo Spirito hinterland in Savona province.
The cavities that are open and equipped for the public are just two: cave from Băsura (or Witch's cave) and Santa Lucia cave inferior, but there are 5 caves on site adding the Colombo cave, excavating the Colombo cave and the Santa Lucia cave superior.
The caves of Toirano are known for their beauty, the richness of the stalactites and stalagmites, but also for the important archaeological values of Băsura cave. In fact, this cave preserves the many remains of Ursus spelaeus, the cave's bear, who used it as a shelter for hibernation and more evidence of the entrance of the prehistoric people during the Paleolithic period.

Visiting hours: between 9:30 and 12, between 14 and 17.

- Children between 6 and 18 years 7 €.

Clothes and footwear must be appropriate.
Caves are accessible to visitors of all ages, but the nature of the route is not suitable for people with psychomotor disabilities.
The route takes 70 minutes and the standard temperature is 16 degrees.
