Vihren Peak - details and images
Vihren is the highest peak in the Pirin Mountains, located in the northern part of them. At an altitude of 2,914 m, Vihren is the second highest peak in Bulgaria and third in the Balkan Peninsula, after Musala and Olympus.
It is located in the northern part of the Pirin mountains, namely on the main ridge between the Hvoynati and Kutelo peaks, between the Vlahinska and Banderitsa rivers. This is one of the most impressive places for tourism in the Pirin mountains.
The slopes of the Vihrensunt Peak are made of marble rocks, these are rocky without vegetation and do not hold water. For these reasons in the region there are no rivers and lakes formed.
