The old and vibrant capital of Georgia stretches on both sides of the Mtkvari River and is surrounded on three sides by mountains. Tbilisi is the capital and largest city of Georgia, with a population of over one million inhabitants and was founded in the 5th century by the King of Georgia, Vakhtang I Gorgasali.

The old city center of Tbilisi is a wonderful place to start exploring and is the place where you will find many worthy sights, including churches and historical monuments and fortresses. The narrow street maze offers surprises because you never know where you will end up, be it a bar, bakery or khinkali store.
Also here you will find the Abanotubani neighborhood, a whole street full of public baths that use many hot springs and sulfur in the area. The bathrooms are underground, these communal bathrooms are cheaper and have separate areas for men and women. Relax in the hot pool, in the sauna and take a dip in the cold pool - then repeat.
