Amman is the capital and largest city of Jordan with a population of almost three million inhabitants. Named in ancient times "Philadelphia", built on seven hills, Amman is today a modern city, in which both Muslims and Christians live.
Madaba became known as the "City of Mosaics" in Jordan, being the capital of the Madaba Government located in central Jordan, 30 kilometers southwest of the capital of Amman, known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. Madaba dates from the Middle Bronze Age.
