Zakopane lies in the southern part of Poland at the border to Slovakia and is approx. 90 km away from Krakow. The Tatra National park borders on the southern part of the city. Zakopane presents itself in the "Zakopane-Style". The resort is build up of numerous traditional wood houses, which were built by the Gorals, a West Slavic tribe. With the establishment of the first hotels, at the beginning of the 20th century, more and more people started to travel to Zakopane, especially to climb the mountains and to relax. In the meantime Zakopane had already made a name for itself and has now become the most important winter sports resort in Poland. The resort gained fame as an event site of many northern ski championships as well as biathlon championships and ski jump competitions. The locals spoil the guests with great service and hospitality, so that you can enjoy a relaxed winter holiday, in this lovely area.
Kołobrzeg is a city in western Pomeranian Voivodeship in northwestern Poland with approximately 47,000 inhabitants (as of 2014). Kołobrzeg is located on the Parsęta River, on the south coast of the Baltic Sea (in the middle of the sections divided by the Oder and Vistula rivers).
Szklarska Poręba (Schreiberhau) lays in the river bed of the Zacken, between the Eastern extension of the Jizera Mountains and the north face of the Giant Mountains, at an altitude of up to 886 m. This picturesque place on earth is know today as one of the most important tourism centres in the Polish part of this massif. Let yourself be transported up the mountain to the 1,326 m high peak of the Reifträger by the double chair lift, and go on a hike to the fascinating snow caverns, look out for the source of the Elbe River and possibly even cross over the border to the Czech Republic.
Szklarska Poręba offers ideal conditions for active winter sports, thanks to it's good location and high likeliness of snow. Even back in the first half of the 19th century there was a 7 km long toboggan run down into the valley. Up the mountain you had to go by horse. Every winter many tourists come to the resort, as the ski area at the Reifträger (Szrenica) also has some artificially snowed pistes and is known as one of the most attractive ski areas in whole Eastern Europe.
Rzeszów is a city in southeastern Poland (historical region of Galicia). It is an administrative center of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship, having, as of November 3, 2014, a population of 185,242 inhabitants. Access by air can be made through Jasionka International Airport just 12 kilometers north of the city.
