Edinburgh is located on the east coast of Scotland, the Firth of Forth coast and is the capital of Scotland since 1437.
The city was a major center of the Enlightenment, especially due to its University. Old Town and New Town districts of Edinburgh were included in the UNESCO World Heritage in 1995. In 2001, Edinburgh had a population of 448,624 inhabitants.
Edinburgh is the second tourist destination in Britain after London and attracts over 13 million visitors annually.
Edinburgh's historic city center is divided into two Princes Street Gardens Park, whose construction began in 1816.
