The tourist centre of the High Tatra lies at the foot of the mountain massive Lomnický Štítam at an altitude of 850 m. The headquarters of the Tatra National Park is located in Tatranská Lomnica, which were appointed the biosphere reserve, by the UNESCO,
together with the national park of the Polish neighbour. In the museum of the national park visitors can get to know the nature, its protection and the history of the national park. Further, Tatranská Lomnica offers the perfect entrance into the ski area:
The gondola lift takes you to Skalnate Pleso on the Lomnicky stit (Lomnický Peak), the second highest peak of the High Tatra.
